Today I bring you a very Chic Jesmond Dene Wedding full of glitz and glamour. There was a good chunk of sparkle and a lot of fun at Andrew and Lindi’s wedding.
Working on the wedding with me that day would be some of my favourite people in the industry; Dani Cochrane Make Up Artist, Vikki from Mooshki Bridal, Scott Coulter the videographer and Donna of The Timeless Table who would be styling the venue and providing the flowers.
On the morning of the wedding, I arrived at Jesmond Dene House. There had been a lot of rain over the previous few days. It was a typical autumnal day. A bit grey, a bit fresh. The leaves on the trees had turned a mixture of golds and reds. It looked stunning. But the ground was a little boggy.
As I got into the Great Hall, Donna arrived. I speak to Donna most days but I’d not seen her for ages! It was great to see a familiar face. As I was getting myself set up, she set about decorating the room with flowers and candles. Scott and his assistant were setting up too with all their kit. Upstairs, Dani was applying make up to Lindi and the girls. There was a very light-hearted atmosphere as everyone chatted about the day ahead.
Andrew had now arrived. He chatted to the registrar and set about organising people, pointing them in the right direction. The Great Hall looked stunning. It wasn’t set up in the normal way. The aisle was set up so that the vows would be exchanged in front of the magnificent fireplace. Add to that the candles, flowers and sparkles and we had so most opulent looking setting. Grandeur and glamour at it’s best!
With the room full, Lindi was ready to enter the room. The curtain’s closed at the top of the room, everybody turned. The curtains opened and in came Lindi. She swished her way in wearing a stunning “Zara” dress from Mooshki. Throughout the ceremony Lindi dabbed away tears as vows were exchanged. And as they made their way through the ceremony their little boy tottered around the room ably watched over by one of the guests.
Ahead of the showers that threatened the day, everyone pegged it outside to throw confetti and then join the newlyweds for images. Because of the soggy ground we didn’t risk heading into Jesmond Dene. There was no way I was going to risk getting Lindi’s Jimmy Choo’s dirty. We had a walk around the grounds before heading to the Wine Cellar to get some shots. With so many expensive bottle of wine around I was terrified of knocking a bottle over!
Back upstairs, Donna had set the tables with shimmering gold runners, candles and flowers. It looked like something from a Dior advert. Everyone made their way into and took their places before speeches were delivered. This included speeches from the main bridesmaid and Lindi herself. With each speech people dabbed their eye’s. Andrew delivered a superb speech. He’s accustomed to public speaking with his job and it showed. He still managed to pack a punch of emotion.
With the light dropping and evening guests arriving, the Great Hall was once again transformed for the evening fun and games. Surrounded by a bunch of female guests, Lindi twirled around with everyone fluffing her dress up. And then she was welcomed to the dance floor with Andrew. Everyone looked on as the lights dipped and the happy couple danced away.
With a dance floor filled with guests dancing, I captured a few more shots before heading off into the night. An absolutely superb day surrounded by amazing people!
